2019 Season Details

2019 RGYL Season Info


1st and 2nd Grade

This is an in-house program dedicated to developing base skills and learning the game of lacrosse.  Key fundamentals such as throwing, catching, scooping and cradling will be taught. The goal at this level is to create a positive experience, provide exercise, and make certain the girls have fun!

All girls will need to bring their own stick, goggles, mouth guard and water bottle to each session.  The girls will be separated by grade for each session. Teams are created solely for teaching purposes and to help organize drills.

Uniforms:  Pinnies or t-shirts will be provided to the players.

Dates:                         March 27th - May 18th

Where:                        Creek Field at Radnor High School

Practices:                    Wednesdays 5:30- 6:45pm

                                    Saturdays 9:30-11:00am

                                    Just Wednesdays in April.   Wed & Sat in May

Cost:                           $100

Out of township participation allowed for grades 1 & 2 only.


3rd and 4th Grades

This program continues to emphasize the fundamental stick skills and starts to focus on the strategy of team play by adding competitive & fun games with surrounding townships. 

Uniforms: Pinnies will be provided to for use at practice and in games.

Dates:                  March 18th - May 18th

Where:                Radnor Memorial and Dittmar Fields (tbd)

Practices:            Mondays and Wednesdays 6-7:15 PM 

Games:                Saturdays (Home games at Dittmar).  One Sunday game (4/28)

                              Begin April 6th

Cost:                     $155 through January 31st.

                              $205 February 1st or later 


Grades 5 & 6

This is a fun and competitive level of lacrosse.  Players are expected to commit to attend all practices and games.  Team placement is based on individual players’ skills levels.   Players are assessed doing drills and game-like drills during the Evaluation Days by a group of coaches and independent evaluators. 

Important Season Dates & times

Evaluations:                         March 3rd – 11th (see below) @ RHS Turf Fields

Practices                               Start 3/18

                                             Monday and Wednesday 6:15 – 7:30 pm @  RHS Turf fields

Games:                                 8 games scheduled on weekends, mostly Saturdays

Teams will be posted on radnorgirls.com website March 18th 

Uniforms:  RGYL will issue a Team Pinnie in advance of evaluation days (details to follow).  Girls will need to provide their own black sports skirt/kilt to be worn for games.  During the cold weather it is fine to wear black leggings underneath.   The Radnor Uniform online store will open in January to purchase these items

Other Notes:

  • Everyone is expected to attend ALL evaluation sessions. Please let us know of any conflict ahead of time.  We will do our best to evaluate your daughter on the days she is present so that she is placed on the team that best matches her ability level.
  • While many girls in 5/6 have played in prior years, you do not need to have played lacrosse previously to play.  All levels are welcome!

Grades 7 & 8

Additionally, there is a PAGLA Playday (and Ref Training) on Sunday 3/17.  This will be used as a final evaluation only if needed due to weather cancellations on above dates.   More details and times to follow.

Cancellation Policy: If you have registered and choose to cancel your child's registration after close of registration, a $20.00 administration fee will be applied to your cancellation.
