Spring 2020 Evaluations (for 5-6th and 7-8th Grades only)

All Evaluations will be held at Radnor High School Turf  (Encke Field)

Date 5th & 6th        7th & 8th       
Sunday March 8th     11am - 12:15 pm   12:30 - 1:45 pm  
Monday March 9th      7:45 - 8:45 pm 6:30 - 7:30 pm
Wednesday March 11th        7:45 - 8:45 pm 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Sunday March 15th (Playday)*   

12:30 - 4pm 12:30 - 4pm

* specific details & games times for 3/15 playday will be sent out 3/13

  • Players are expected to attend All Evaluations.  
  • Please let us know of any conflict ahead of time via email  (admin@radnorgirls.com)  We will evaluate your daughter on the days she is present for placement on the team that best matches her ability level.
  • There will be one A Level Team for both 5/6 and 7/8th.  The B levels teams will all be evenly-leveled
  • Regardless of A or B level team placement, all 5/6 and 7/8 players practice together as a group each Monday night
  • Team practices are Wednesday nights, and all teams practice at same location:  RHS Encke field.

1st and 2nd Grade

This is an in-house program dedicated to developing base skills and learning the game of lacrosse.  Key fundamentals such as throwing, catching, scooping and cradling will be taught. The goal at this level is to create a positive experience, provide exercise, and make certain the girls have fun!

All girls will need to bring their own stick, goggles, mouth guard and water bottle to each session.  The girls will be separated by grade for each session. Teams are created solely for teaching purposes and to help organize drills.

Uniforms:  Pinnies or t-shirts will be provided to the players.

Dates:                         April 1st - May 16th

Where:                        Radnor Turf Field (TBD) 

Practices:                    Wednesdays* 6:15- 7:15 pm (*Mondays on 4/13 and 4/27 instead of Wednesday)

Scrimmage Days:      Saturdays in MAY only 9:30-11:00am at Dittmar Fields

Cost:                           $100

Out of township participation allowed for grades 1 & 2 only.

3rd and 4th Grades

This program continues to emphasize the fundamental stick skills and starts to focus on the strategy of team play by adding competitive & fun games with surrounding townships. 

Uniforms: Pinnies will be provided to for use at practice and in games.

Dates:                  March 18 th - May 18th

Where:                RHS Turf Fields (weekdays) and Dittmar Fields (weekends)

Practices:            Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30 -7:30 PM 

Games:                Mostly Saturdays (Home games at Dittmar); 1 or 2 Sunday game (4/27)

                              Games begin 3/28

Cost:                     $160 through February 2nd.   $215 February 3rd or later 

Grades 5 & 6

This is a fun and competitive level of lacrosse.  Players are expected to commit to attend all practices and games.  Team placement is based on individual players’ skills levels.   Players are assessed doing drills and game-like drills during the Evaluation Days by a group of coaches and independent evaluators.

Practices                             Start 3/16

                                             Monday and Wednesday 6:30 – 7:45 pm @  RHS Turf fields

Games:                                 8 games scheduled on weekends, mostly Saturdays, beginning 3/21

Cost:                                      $160 through February 2nd; $215 February 3rd or later 

There is a PAGLA Playday (and Ref Training) on Sunday 3/15.  This will be used as a final evaluation 

Teams will be posted on radnorgirls.com website March 16th 

Uniforms:  RGYL will issue a Team Pinnie in advance of evaluation days (details to follow).  Girls will need to provide their own black sports skirt/kilt to be worn for games.  During the cold weather it is fine to wear black leggings underneath.   The Radnor Uniform online store will open in January to purchase these items

Other Notes:

  • Everyone is expected to attend ALL evaluation sessions. Please let us know of any conflict ahead of time.  We will do our best to evaluate your daughter on the days she is present so that she is placed on the team that best matches her ability level.
  • While many girls in 5/6 have played in prior years, you do not need to have played lacrosse previously to play.  All levels are welcome!

Cancellation Policy: If you have registered and choose to cancel your child's registration after close of registration, a $20.00 administration fee will be applied to your cancellation.
